Re: Rules, rules, rules!

One last thing about the 'no pack'/Out Of Play thing, Major Wood (Level 4 ref with Nashville, anyone else spotting a Dungeons & Dragons theme with the certified refs?) seems to have gotten a little annoyed with me asking questions about this subject and has kinda justified his decision by adding...

Thanks Chick!

Yeah, I need to find a volume that doesn't make it seem like I'm angry with everyone!

Fair enough, we usually give it a while to sink in before issuing insubordination majors! :P

Re: Rules, rules, rules!

Okay, good to know this isn't a complete waste of time! @ Chick, it's possible that the OOP penalties that were called may have been wrong (refs are only human) or that the penalty was seen and by the time it was called the pack might have caught up making it seem like it wasn't out of play. Maybe. ...

Rules, rules, rules!

After scrimmage practice a couple of weeks ago and the recent bouts (my first 2 back to back!), I thought maybe we might have a thread to discuss any discrepancies (I might have) in the rules and hope to clear up any confusion this might bring (for me). This follows after the debates I've been havin...

Re: 3rd Sept- Ticket/spectator information

Where's the other bowls hall then? I've seen the one that the Tuesday skaters like, didn't realise there was another one. Presumably there are going to be signs up and the like?

Re: Jammers jumping at the jammer start whistle

Actually, you may be accelerating toward the ground when the whistle goes. You'd have to be decelerating upwards to technically avoid the penalty. How pedantic am I? :geek: Zebrauddle is a good resource for anyone wanting to get their heads around the finer nuances of the rules. Although it can be a...

Re: Aluminium hubbed wheels - advice needed!

Hey Del, check out the thread on 'Floor and Wheels' from September last year. There's something about the Hartless (Heartless?) wheels not lasting.

Good point about losing energy, didn't think of that!

Re: Aluminium hubbed wheels - advice needed!

As a really rather large skater meself, I've been looking for wheels that might cope with my enormous weight and stumbled across the B'zerk Lunatics. At 98A, they are quite hard and should stop me bogging down like on stickier wheels plus the hub is glass-reinforced nylon, which, they say, makes it ...

Re: Speed - how fast?

Hmm, I gave it a go a couple of weeks ago and the track is slightly easier to skate when going at some click. I was only doing about 14 secs a lap, so I've got a lot of work to do. I'll be turning up to practice early every week to try and see how many laps I can do. Got 20 in five minutes last time...

I've got a beaing puller/pusher if you want me to bring along to fresh meat? It's one of the mechanical, bench mountable types too. Makes it much easier. :)

Forum Clock

I'm guessing it doesn't really matter, but the clock on the forum is an hour ahead of our time. Will that make any difference?
