Re: Advice on knee pads

There's one issue with strapping: you need to tighten the Bottom strap well and make sure the strap tightens above the point where your calf starts tapering towards your knee. That way the fattest part of your calf stops your pad slipping down.

A spare toe stop nut?

Would anyone have a spare I could have? The thread on mine has got damaged. They don't seem to sell them in hardware stores (inch vs mm).

Re: Entering/communicating to the penalty box

There's nothing that says that the penalised skater can't communicate... shout or wave or what ever.

Yes, the box should be marked. :)

Re: looking for grippy wheels with slide!

Although I have combo Jukes, I am not convinced with mixing wheels. For me it's a compromise because I could not afford to buy three sets of 8 wheels! I'd have all the same grippiness because I want my skates behave the same no matter which way I do my hockey stop, powerslide, juke etc... I think mi...

Re: Cannot post

Yes, I typed it in. I realised the problem was slightly different.

I could not copy and paste and post. The text pasted into the field but after clicking submit I was thrown to the front page without the post appearing.

Re: Cannot post

I know. My original post would not post and when I tried to copy and paste the original text into a new post, it would throw me out every time. So even I had the text on the clipboard, I had to go and type it in again. Boring.

Cannot post (copy & paste doesn't work)

I've been trying to post on the league minutes section (coaching mins) but it keeps throwing me out :( I could post on the other sections. Odd.

Re: Advice on knee pads

I'd say get gaskets first and see how you get on with them. Or borrow someone's gaskets to try them out.

Re: Advice on knee pads

The padding seems to compress quite quickly on any knee pads unfortunately. My Scabs don't protect me nearly as well as they did new, just 5? months ago. Haven't got round buying gaskets - gaskets is what people seem to recommend.

Minor and Major penalties table

Attached is a document with Minor and Major penalties listed. Hopefully you will find it helpful - for example when is Cutting the track Minor and when it's a Major? It depends how many skaters you cut and whether the skater happens to be the foremost opposing blocker. :) Example Type Minor Major Cu...
