Re: Riedell Vandals UK ladies size 7

I'm usually a standard UK size 5 in most shoes, but went for the UK size 4s in the Vandals. I spoke with the sales girl on the phone - also a derby girl - and told her the exact length of my feet. She then measured the 4s which came up 0.5 cm longer (in fact, it may have even been dead on). When I i...

Re: London Roller Girls VS Rocky Mountain Roller Girls 12/08

Hi all. It seems we're all taking trains, busses and cars to get to London and getting there at various times. Would it be possible to have a meeting time and place for the majority of us? I think it would be fun if we could all could sit together. I don't know London very well, any suggestions? Th...

I've still not heard back from my dad, so still don't know if i will be in italy or not. I'm gonna just go ahead and book tickets for this bout and sell them if i'm not here for it. Dan's coming too. x

Blizz, how did you find the Jukes compared to the Radar Tuners? Did you feel more able to hop about?

Re: Socks and shoelaces

In terms of length, personally my size 4 skates require at least 180cm. I guess 200 would be ideal, but 180 are the longest 'sports laces' that Timpson sell in Asda! :)

Re: Clarification about baseball slides

yeah really good for your stomach! i do use a rocking motion but i also just skate really fast into the fall as it's then easier to pop back up. The slower you are going the harder it is i reckon.

Re: Clarification about baseball slides

yeah, i see what you mean. maybe it is simply to avoid any finger/hand injuries at all costs!

we should ask Wonton!

i would say don't use your hand during the assessment but then once you've passed do what you like - a bit like driving!

Re: Clarification about baseball slides

I would say no to using your hands. I have a vague memory of doing them at St Paul's with Wonton and her telling everyone not to use their hands. I would use stomach muscles to pull yourself up with and use the motion you had when sliding to then 'fly' back up again - almost like you don't 'sit down...
