I'd save up. As you improve you'll be pushing your skates harder. Check what wheels/bearings/etc they come with as with more expensive ones you're more likely to be able to use the whole package rather than buy a cheap boot and have to shell out extra £££ for wheels/bearings/etc. Having said that...

Goldie, I might want to go halves with you on some pushers as I'm planning to get new skates for Xmas. I'm considering Riedell Wickeds which come with 92As, seems like they will be fine for Withywood but will need some grip if we go anywhere slippier!

Which were you thinking of?

Ho ho, us veggies always ruin the party ;-)

My vote is with Arts house so far, but this may be subject to change!

EDIT: Also, just thought, are we going to meet in town and go there together? I have little faith in myself finding even the most obvious places, especially in the dark...

Anything goes, as long as it's not megabucks! Preferably something with some decent veg options, but I'm not going to make demands as I don't know anywhere in that area so can't actually say anything helpful on the matter :P

Anyone want to make an executive decision?

I'm interested, haven't been ice skating in years... doubtless I will do a typical me at skating and still fall on my arse.

Sadly can't come, got a friend coming down from London that day. Of course I would invite her but we're meant to be picking her up from the megabus at 9.30, so timing's a bit crap =(

Girdles... sexxay. Though my coccyx still hurts from last Tuesday with the Brawlers, I just can't bring myself to get padded shorts...

Tuff, check the assessment sheet - only those things with the pass/fail box are essential (e.g. you don't need to be able to do backwards skating).

I do mine and Butch's on a delicates cycle, with Woolite... I'm more worried about the material getting ruined by the cleaning agent than it being too rough in the washing machine (after all, they're designed to withstand rough handling :P)
