Mounting plates....

Postby Acid Drop » 16 May 2012, 17:15

Soooo.....

I have a new pair of Antik boots (they fit.... Yay!) and a set of Revenge plates and a bag of nuts/ etc

Has anyone mounted plates to boots and if so would you be prepared to help me?

I know Skate Attack do it, but I haven't got much free time and I want to get back to skating ASAP...

I can pay in cake/ beers/ eternal gratitude!

Cheers!

Sid xx

I've been planning to mine for a while as I have a new plate sitting in my house..
I've been reading this http://www.sincityskates.com/images/dow ... unting.pdf
And I've bought some of the filler they suggested just haven't got round to it!
Maybe we could do it together? Do you have a drill? :D

Yep - id be up for that! Let me know when you are free (evenings are best for me!) I have a drill and some new bolts/ nuts. What I don't have is a tool to break the bolts off once the plates are on....

Has anyone done this before and got a handy tool-kit with a pair of bolt cutters?

I did mine in the kitchen with me muh, it was quite fun. To break the bolts off i used a little saw, it only took about a minute for each bolt, but I did get some nice muscle ache going on im my arm.

you do get some sharp edges if you saw off the bolts so maybe try and file them down after. x

Ahh... in the end I sent mine to Skate Attack as I got scared about buggering up a brand new pair of boots

Jo (Von Bitch) has mounted them already so I should get them back tomorrow...

Tequila, or anyone who's done this, when you mounted your skates did you need new bolts? I don't know where to get them from!? Can I just use the ones from my old plates?

You might get away with the bolds from your old skates, but it might be best to use new ones in case the old ones are too short.

I might have a spare set from when I attempted to mount my Antiks (and then got scared and got Von Bitch to do them)

Ooo that would be great if you do Sid.
They should be arriving on Tuesday and I want to use them (if they fit) at practice on wed so I can be used to them for the tournament! :-D I'm cutting it very fine! Are you at scrimmage today?
