Hey everyone - did I miss the list of numbers. Is there a list even? And looking at this thread - did anyone opt for 77 in the end? I'm after 77 or 76 (In keeping with The Clash/punk theme of White Riot! :) x

Indy Corum is 77

I am going to tweak the Members List so that we have our own Roller Derby based member info, but I'm not even starting on tweaking the code til well after the bout :)

Does anyone know if 129 is taken? It's for the hoodie prints. Otherwise I'll just go without a number until the next hoodie print batch thing-majig.

Also, do refs generally shout "One, two, Nine" or "One hundred and twenty Nine"? This would make a difference to me because then I'd know what to pay attention too. Although it might just be easier to go with a single or 2 digit number to avoid complications...

As far as I know, for 3 digit numbers, each number is read out. For two digit numbers, they're read together.

E.g. "Blue Six Five Seven" & "Red Fifty-Two"

Can't find anything in the rules or appendices about a standardised way of saying numbers but it might be useful to read through this: http://wftda.com/rules/wftda-officiatin ... l-cues.pdf To know what else to listen out for as well :-)

At May Day in Hell event the refs told us that all our numbers will be read out one by one, even 2-number ones "five-two". It was however said in a way that it's not a rule, but something that refs agree between themselves for clarity. Depends what the ref's see the best. I think reading 52 as fifty-two and 657 as six-five-seven is simplest. but that's just my opinion :)

Agreed - refs will often agree on these kind of things before a bout. A lot of items are based on the head ref's preferences - some like to call time outs at specific points in the bout, some like to enforce rules such as misconduct after a warning (or not!) etc.

If you ever want to know any of these before the bout starts, remember that team captains and alternates can always request to speak to the head ref (and, indeed, will generally have a quick briefing with them anyway) to make sure they're ready for any differences in rule / best practice details.

Aha, thanks folks. I think in that case I'll stick with 129 if it's not taken already. It seems more reasonable to shout 1-2-9 rather than one hundred and twenty nine etc, and that's what will make the most sense in my head in the heat of a moment. Although truth be told, I'm not entirely sure what will make sense in my head in these circumstances! ;)

Hi everyone, back to this old thread as Red October's looking into getting FM t-shirts with names and numbers, and I still don't have a number yet. I asked about 77 which is Indy Corum's number - is there any chance I can use 1977 (It's the year punk exploded in the UK so I'd love to use it if it won't cause too much confusion)

WOOOOP! Well I've PM'd Indy to see if she has any objection to me using 1977 as she's 77 - I don't want to confuse anyone but it's the obvious number for a punk persona :) I've been looking for alternatives but everything seems to happen in 77 haha. We'll see what she says...
