Is there anyone in Fresh Meat who'd like to come to see the Harlots scrimmage...and to film them doing so? To improve their skills and tactics the scrimmaging skaters would like to see the action played back. Even mobile phone footage or digital camera would be fine - or if you haven't got one, but are happy to watch us from the balcony and look after the camera, I'll find you one. See the training timetable for Scrimmage times.

Let us know!

I have a little camera that could be used and then I'd be happy to capture the footage, just need someone to be in charge of it as obviously I'll be scrimmaging.xx

Blizz, I wouldn't mind looking after the camera if you can get hold of one. I've only got an old sony that takes DV tapes and no idea how to get them on to a PC. Don't know if that'll be any good (or if I can find it).

Good to see the scrimmaging last night, for someone who's only seen derby on youtube it really brought it to life.

Not sure if this is something we can do, but I have just been thinking is there a way we can rotate the NSO's at practice sessions? I have done scoring a couple of times now and while I am happy to have volunteered to help out for NSOing, last night in the warm up I realised I seem to be becoming more (for want of a better word) 'rubbish' at scrimmaging - so I wonder if there is a way to rotate so those who want to NSO and skate can do both?

Like I say, I'm happy to volunteer to NSO, it's an important part of the game - but I don't want my skating to suffer (I already feel I'm behind everyone else, though this could be more to do with my own low skill level than the time spent NSOing)

Sorry if someone else has suggested this elsewhere or if there is already rotation in place that I've missed. Any thoughts on this gratefully received...

Also - just wanted to say THANKS to Chick for her guidance in learning the NSO stuff, you're doing a sterling job :-)

Thanks Winged Nut. You don't have to NSO for every scrimmage. Sorry if it isn't clear but you are given a choice whether or not to scrimmage, e.g. Taya & Wrecks had a go last night. We just need a few more bodies to NSO. Chick has already suggested a bit of a rotation here.

Thanks Wonton - I wasn't sure about whether I should scrimmage or not seeing as I had said previously I would NSO, but it's good to know I can have a go next time :-)

Tarty I think rotating every other time is a great idea, I'm up for that!

yep the more volunteers there are the better, that way we can rotate / plus skaters get to brush up on their rules by doing some off skates action! :)

Good point Chick - I recommend NSOing as a way to improve your rules/observation skills :-)

no problemo amigos

:)

won't be at sunday's practise and forgot to leave any score sheets etc @ withywood so someone needs to take over on the head NSO thing for the last hour on sunday (i.e. make sure sheets are printed out and brought along and then given out to whoevers keeping track of things)
