Hiya! I'm a new fresh meaty!

Had our first session today with lots of knee falls :-)

I bought a pair of 187 pro pads size large coz I'm a big girl and wanted plenty of padding around my knees, they are great but occasionally they slip around my knee when I land. I tried tightening them up but all this did was cut the blood supply to my leg off!

On one fall both pads slipped outwards and I pulled my groin :-(

Has any one else experienced this? The pads just fit - they are on right on the edge of the Velcro, but I measured myself according to the guidelines on the sin city skates site and they seems like the right size....

Any advice gratefully received.

Thanks

Chemical Annie xx

It could be that they just need breaking in a little. My knee pads now have a depression on the inside where my knee cap fits in. Also, what are you wearing underneath your knee pads? When I wear tights they slip a little less than when I wear shiny leggings :P

Thanks! I was wearing some shiny legging type things - I'll try some socks next week :-)

Also, when I'm stood up straight the pads seems to stand out along way from my knees- I'm not sure if they are a little small or are they meant to do that?!!

No, it's normal that they stick out.

I find it's more important to do the bottom straps up very tightly. Because of the shape of my thighs (well rounded by Derby), the top straps tend to slip down so tightening them is generally counter productive.

I second the shiny leggings theory. I found the same with mine, I was constantly pulling my knee pads when wearing them.

Some ppl wear knee gaskets under their pads (I should, but don't). This extra layer of padding might help keep them up...

I'm interested in this... I've had my bullet pads for a while and although they are cheap they have been doing the job. However, because they are not bulky, I find that when I slam onto the floor, the shock that goes through my back is painful and sometimes the bottom of the pad gives me a bruise just below me knee!

Can I please try on peoples' various knee pads - sizes and styles at some point? Although I am 'small' my legs are not actually thin, so sizing is tricky for me. It's my birthday in May so hopefully I can 'put my order in' for new pads, if I know exactly what I need!
