Hi girls, I need to upgrade my skates to something better fitting (mine are too big) and have tried Goldies size 5 and Bam's size 4. Bam and me have the same size foot and 4 seems better fit. I found a good deal from HHL ice sports - they sell small sizes as 'junior' skates. Riedell Vandals for £185! (plus £10 delivery).

My questions are: Had someone a bad experience with this retailer? I have a vague memory... What size I should go for - they have half sizes! I did not know half sizes exist with Vandals. Can it be right? What's the sizing like - does it say on the skate? What's the difference between US, UK and junior sizes??

Don't want to get the wrong size...

The HHL website is out of date. I can't remember who bought them from them in the beginning but they were apparently hard to get hold of and were charging higher price than stated on the website...

Skate attack does them for £202.50 (with derby discount and free delivery) so that's only £7 difference... so better to go there probably? I found that the skate comes in half sizes. Shame that Skate attack does not do half sizes, 4 1/2 is tempting. Would be cool if they could sell the skates with no VAT as it's a junior size.

Yeah, don't use HHL. I ordered my skates from Everglides, over the phone, they are very helpful. Although they did tell me that Vandals are no longer being made and you can only get the Wicked (same boot, but metal plates) unless they still have some in stock.

I did phone up skate attack about their vandals and they had none left in my size, but maybe they do have your size still.

everglides are really helpful and dont mess you about with dates, plus if your smaller than a 6 you dont pay VAT and they give 10% derby discount.

Discrimination against bigger feet. I'll sue them.

Everglides website does not show Vandals and I don't remember seeing them there before. Also I am getting confused because I see Vixens now for quite cheap, why are they cheaper than Vandals?

Devine, with derby discount Wickeds are about £270 at Everglides. SOld out though looks like...

dont go by the website, give the guy a ring, his name is john, hes very helpful. he put in regular orders directly to riedell. I think the boot of the vandals is better than the vixens? as it is specially design for derby skaiting, so that may be why they are more expensive. Well thats what i read on sincity anyways.

HHL- it was me that ordered, it was a nightmare, and they took forever to get here.

The website belongs to a previous owner, if you phone the shop (same number as on the website) get a price, as he didnt tell me it was different to the website, and I ended up paying either 20 or 30 quid extra :/

I got mine from Skate Attack too! We actually made the pilgrimage to the shop for my bday and was served by the lovely Von Bitch of the London Rockin' Rollers! Very friendly and good advice plus Dave paid more than half hazzah! I definately recommend getting the partner to foot the bill!! x
