Skates on a plane

I had my skates in my handluggage when I flew to Finland. The security looked at them a bit weirdly and they had to ask a colleague whether they were allowed - they were.

I'm flying with Easyjet next and this time my skates have alu plates (previous ones had nylon plates) and am wondering... hopefully they go through. Rollerskates aren't listed on their website as prohibited - skateboards are, under blunt instruments!

Anyone had their skates in handluggage?

Blizz, this is from some roller girl on a forum:

"i travel all over europe, ie germany, croatia, italy, sardinia, portugal holland and france recently, and so long as you keep just skates in there and no tools or sharps there hasnt been a problem, the only time there has is when theyve leant over in the bag and the scanner picks up the plate looking like a blade then they have searched it but otherwise no problems."

(by recently, she means 2007)

I asked the same on LRG forum, and all say they're fine, even on Easyjet :-)

This is good to know as when I next catch the plane up to glasgow I wanna try to go to their teams practice!
