London Rollergirls Summer School: Blocking From the Ground Up

http://lrg-summer-school-blocking-1.ettend.com/

The second of the London Rollergirls' Summer Schools: Blocking from the Ground Up.

We’ll spend this bootcamp breaking down blocking from your feet up. By the end we’ll make your hits harder, more efficient and more successful. we’ll teach you the best way to connect your hits, where to put your weight and how to use it.

Haven't passed minimum skills yet? Well for just 10 of your English pounds you are more than welcome to come along off-skates and take notes of the drills that we are doing.

Featuring:

* Agility - we’ll show you how to work on sudden burst of movement and agility to get you where you need to be in the pack.
* Footwork - the building blocks of solid foundations for effect hits .
* Stance - we’ll work on where to put your weight to block smart as well as hard.
* Positional - finishing with upper body management when positional blocking, how to stay focused and keep people where you want them.

So who’s teaching this shiz? London Brawling's finest blockers: Stefanie Mainey, Ena Flash, Fox Sake, Raw Heidi, Grievous Bodily Charm, Ninjette and the Dalai Harmer.

Location: Tottenham Green Leisure Centre, 1 Philip Lane, Tottenham, London N15 4JA

When: Saturday 13th August

Time: 1 - 6pm (please arrive at 12.30pm for registration and getting kitted up).

Price: £35 (includes VAT) for skating or £10 (includes VAT) to watch and take notes.

To get the most out of the Blocking From the Ground Up bootcamp we ask that you are confident on your skates, can stop and fall safely, and can hit and be hit. You need to have passed your WFTDA minimum skills. In the interests of the safety of all participants, coaches may remove someone who they consider not to have reached an appropriate standard, and who poses a risk of injury to themselves or other members of the group. Refunds WILL NOT BE GIVEN IN THIS CASE. Ticket prices include Paypal fees.

Boy, that's short notice! They didn't mention anything when we went last week-end!

I'll be at Rocky Mountain anyway.

Thanks, Delta!!

I'd love to go to this one - specially after yesterday's session, when our resident bruiser Knuckles made me literally fly. I want to learn to do that!

Is anyone planning to go too? It's very short notice... Checking bus fares now, but if someone is thinking of driving there I'd love to share petrol and parking costs.

Cheers xx

I would have liked to have gone, but I don't think I can afford to do another one, especially as I'm already going to the Rocky mountain bout on the Fri and Goodwood on the Sun.

aw man, i've already booked rocky mountain bout and my train ticket home that night. otherwise i could have maybe stayed over in london. it's all getting expensive! plus, i'd get home really late on fri night then have to get up really early the next day to travel up so might not have the energy for it.

but i really really wanna go! (stamps feet like a 2 year old)... :x
