If anyone is interested travelling a bit further, there is a 2-day May Day in Hell event in Helsinki 30/4-1/5/2011. Impressive selection of guest coaches from the States. I may go...
Have a look: http://www.helsinkirollerderby.com/mayday-in-hell-2011/
MayDay in Hell includes two days of International roller derby.
Day 1 (30.4.2011) will include training and a double-header bout
Day 2 (1.5.2011) is all about the full-day bootcamp for skaters and referees. We have 5 great coaches confirmed for the skaters’ bootcamp. We are working hard to get some great referees to help us give Europe’s referees a great bootcamp, too! Stay tuned for more info about the referee coaches!
You can choose to participate on Saturday, Sunday or both days.
Note: All our participants are expected to have passed their WFTDA minimum skills requirements.
ADD 7/12/10 - I got some more info about this. You'll get to bout with/against international teams! Spaces are strictly limited and as they are trying to get a real international event together, only a few *skaters* per team are accepted. They would like more NSOs and refs! They can take 56 skaters on Sat and 60 on Sun (they *may* take extra non-skaters). Sat bout takes ~300 audience. Sat will be free for NSOs and refs, Sun you have to pay as it's a boot camp. Skaters pay for both days. Participation costs are Saturday: 25€, Sunday: 60€, Saturday & Sunday –package: 75€
IMPORTANT
