Hey,
As its been said previously, were now getting to the point where we need to make sure we are all wearing full safety gear (esp intermediate sesh and snake players!) and whilst most of us have got pads, i think most of us still need to get gum shields.
This has come up in conversation a lot recently and although i know you can get them pretty cheap, unfortunately that means they usually dont fit and arnt very good.
Also buying them on the internet can be a pain as taking the mould is difficult and may go wrong in which case you have to send it back and start again!
I have spoken to my dentist and you can get a proper gum shield on the NHS for a reasonable price and they take the mould for you so it will fit and be suitable for its needs. They can also offer you advice if any questions.
I am with Coronation Road Dental Surgery in Southville and they have quoted me;
£45.60 for a plain one
£50 if you want bright colours and patterns! (of course!)
I assume that will be the same for all NHS surgeries?
It only takes 10 mins to take the mould and the gum shield will be ready to collect in 1 week so pretty quick.
Ive signed up for mine as although i dont mind bruises or even broken bones, i personally wouldnt appreciate my teeth smashed in and the dentist bill after! :0
Hope this of use?!
Goldie xxxx
