Check your plates

My friend just had an issue with the kingpin on his skates:

This show's the importance of checking your gear regularly, if he hadn't noticed he would of probably had the kingpin break while skating which could of caused all sorts of pain.

His plate is getting replaced by the manufacturer by the way due to the malfunction.

I second this! My plate broke 3 days before we had a tournament! Although I will add that it was because a replacement part I had bought for them (pivot cups) was the wrong type of part - so also be very careful/informed on upgrading/replacing parts on your plates.
