Tapatalk unread posts issue

Postby da silva surfer » 04 Oct 2013, 21:34

There seems to be an issue with the tapatalk unread posts functionality which shows no posts although you may have unread ones. Some people have reported that reinstalling the app fixes this but I just tried this and it has not worked.

This might be related to an API update that needs investigating.

Please double check your unread posts through the browser version of the forum until we have found a solution.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

I've had this issue for weeks now, and have got tired of un/reinstalling it to the point that I'm ignoring the damn thing. A good way to tell if it's borked it to look at messages - if you know there's old stuff in the inbox and the app tells you it's empty it's a dirty liar.

The API has been updated, this issue should hopefully be resolved but please report if not.

Have just checked my unread messages (I have the pro version) and apparently I have just acquired 500 unread messages :-/

Seems like the update worked then haha ;) did you check by any chance if you had that many unread messages through the web version of the forum? That would be the best test as it would show that they match up x

I'll give it one more shot with a re-install, I guess. I have whatever the original/old version was and haven't had the 'expired' warning for quite a while - it just seems to stop updating after a day or so...

Perfect, I checked around too and it seems to be fine.

You shouldn't need to reinstall, the unread posts issues is linked to the api update. Although we may have not been getting the warning, the api was still out of date and therefore not communicating to tapatalk to update the unread posts.

If users can just keep an eye out that your unread posts on the web version of the forum match up with the ones on tapatalk this should be enough to test the issue has been resolved :)
